Lyla Blake-Gumbs, MD, MPH
Dr. Lyla Blake-Gumbs received her Bachelor of Science in Toxicology from Northeastern University in Boston, MA before attending Hahnemann University School of Medicine in Philadelphia, PA where she received her Doctor of Medicine. Dr. Blake received her post-graduate training as a Chief Resident at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas in Dallas, TX. After her time in Texas, Dr. Blake attended Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, OH where she received her Master of Public Health from the Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics. Dr. Blake has served as a Contract Physician with SteadyMD and Staff Physician with The Cleveland Clinic before joining the Community Health Center in October. Dr. Blake has been published in numerous publications and has been a presenter at multiple conferences. Her clinical interests lie in diet and nutrition in chronic disease management, Integrative and Functional Medicine, Humanitarian Disaster Management, and Global spread of chronic diseases. She is a member of the American Academy of Family Physicians and the Institute of Functional Medicine, and is fluent in English, Spanish, and Portuguese.
